INCORPORATION & ASSOCIATION RULES
The Association is Incorporated under the Queensland Incorporation Act.
As per the Member’s vote in May/June 2024, our official name is 6 RAR Association INC.
Incorporation offers greater protection to the Committee and to Association members in the event of a legal challenge, but more importantly, it allows us to apply for Grants and to book reunion facilities without having to be ‘sponsored’ by another Incorporated body.
Yes, there are costs involved, but we hope to keep them to a minimum.
Over the process of Incorporation, the committee investigated the need for and cost of having Association insurance – for now, due to cost, we have decided to follow the lead of other RAR Associations and not have Association insurance, instead we’ll take-out short term public liability insurance for Reunions and/or as required for special events.

TO INCORPORATE THE 6 RAR ASSOCIATION.
Allan Whelan, Secretary, moved that the Sixth Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment Association, (6 RAR) Association, become an Incorporated association under the QLD Incorporation Act 1981.

REUNION 2025
It is that time again, for us to gather and remember our time in the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment – and to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of our Battalion!
The reunion was in the weekend of 6-8 June 2024. This enabled us to celebrate the Battalion’s birthday as well. The weekend will run as 6 June 2025, Friday night – Meet & Greet at the Amora Hotel, 200 Creek Street, Brisbane.
7 June 2025, Saturday night – Gala Dinner at the Soffitel Brisbane Central, 249 Turbot Street, Brisbane (above Central Train Station)
8 June 2025, Sunday – Memorial Service at the 6 Battalion Lines Memorial Garden, AGM will be held before lunch at the lines.
ACCOMMODATION DISCOUNTS
The Committee have secured discounts from both the Amora Hotel and Soffitel Brisbane Central for members attending the Reunion.
The committee are currently working through negotiations and arrangements for buses from Enoggera train station to the Barracks, venues for the inner-city events and with the Battalion regarding security access and any events they may plan for the Battalion birthday over the weekend.
Stand To and Blue Dog Bulletin are your source of information on the upcoming reunion. Watch out for these updates and make sure you provide all details required for entry to the events at the Barracks. Keep an eye on this space for more information!
